Now I’ve been advised that building one’s own home causes several things: but piles? Yes indeedy, 5 meter piles pounded in by professional pole whackers.

Piles!!!
Who would have thought that piles would give one such joy, but with progress slow-going at HOF, even piles are enough to feed my smoldering hunger for erection gratification esp. in light of the fact that all activities will now cease for a week in observation of Sonkran.

You may remember a time when the world was at peace and HOF had a blue roof. Those days have succumbed to the surreality of Thailand where color has a price.

Call it supply and demand, craziness, or what you will, but blue costs more. Yes, yes! Blue roof tile costs more than green roof tile, which costs more than red roof tile. And, I'm not talking about anything fancy here either. I'm talking about the same damn materials (cement) from the same damn manufacturer (CPAC Monier).

Are the pigments in the blue tiles wrung from the indigo-tinted gonads of sexually tormented proboscis monkeys captured by hand-made traps in the jungles of Borneo? Or, with a fancy name like Monier (zat's French, you know), ze blue is like zee cheez, which is like zee Grey Poupon zat is ooh la la and awh hawh hawh hawh...?

Zis, ladies and gentlemen, is why you now see the HOF with red tile. It may seem a trifle parsimonious, but with over 10,000 roof tiles, we refuse to vive la differance, of zee sousandz dohlarz esp. when we haven't figured out how we're gonna furish zee kitchen.

Let zem eat hambergurz.
